Requirements to Become a Foster Parent
Here are the basic qualifications to get started. Both single individuals and couples are welcome to apply.
Be at least 21 years of age
Pass a criminal background check and child abuse/neglect screening
Complete Maryland-approved pre-service foster parent training
Have a stable and safe living environment with adequate space
Demonstrate financial stability to meet your own household needs
Provide personal and professional references
Complete a home study evaluation conducted by a licensed social worker
Be willing to work collaboratively with Parker's therapeutic team and case managers
